If you came to Vilnius and planning to stay only for 5 days, here are some tourism tips for sightseeing:
Walking around Vilnius old town on your first day will help you understand city’s rhythm and customs. Also Užupis district (near old town) has it’s own unique constitution we recommend to check out. Definitely, on foot you will get see much more than driving with car, and keep in mind everything in Vilnius city center is close enough.
For your next day, climb the Mountain of Three Crosses – panorama view of Vilnius is astonishing from there. If you like beautiful places, go to Trakai city (~30 km away); castle, lakes and nature will amaze you. You even might rent a yacht, if it’s not too cold. However, if you like unusual places, The Park of Europe (~15 km away) with “crazy” modern sculptures will take your breath away.
Try something even more active for your third day: visit popular escape rooms, rent a bike or segway, participate in a flash mob, climb in trees at “rope park”…
If you want to sense a deeper meaning and side of Vilnius, your fourth day should include visiting Genocide Museum, Contemporary Art Centre and Palace of the Grand Dukes.
On the fifth and last day, try a ship tour down Neris river or bus tour around Vilnius old city one more time. Don’t forget to buy some souvenirs on Pilies street and send hand written, heart-warming postcards to your friends and family via post office on Gedimina’s street.
Good luck and have fun in Vilnius! ;]
